currently wants: this election to be over with...

-----------------------------

what better way to forget about this joke-of-an-election than to update my long-neglected deviantART journal! hurrah!

i'm gonna do things a little bit different this time around. instead of loading it up with random thoughts as i've been doing for the few years past, i'm going to keep this traditional and post in a non-list format. i don't even remember the last time i updated in that fashion.

anywhozle, here's the haps...

prior to the 2008 summer, i was in the mood to get out and do something fun for the three months of sunshine & dark shades. i wanted an escape from my routine. i wanted to rule the world (or at least new jersey) with my family, friends (new & old), and girl right by my side. i wanted to not worry so much about the cash in my pocket, or work, or school, or helping stupid fucking old people at the library trying to use fucking adobe photoshop ELEMENTS (erm, sorry got a little out of hand there). did i ask for too much? cause what i got in return mocks the awesome fun i was looking forward too. things just got...sour...on nearly all levels.

around early july i got another job working at the staples copy & print center in the hamilton marketplace. i applied there because my mid-term goal is to get into the printing & graphics depot. in the library and since i just finished up OCC, i figured why not fill that extra free time with some printing experience. well i was there for only two months but wanted to get out of there a hella-lot sooner. with the combination of this & the library, staples was sucking the living life out of me. i was actually ranking up more hours than my dad most of my time there, only i got may be one day off every two weeks and wasn't making the amount of money too justify it. now the extra cash i was making surely didn't hurt, but it wasn't enough for what the position called for. other related jobs even offered more money for less work than at staples (those jobs unfortunately were only hiring full time, and i'm not giving up the library just yet). all was not terrible at staples however. most of the people there were really cool and fun to work with (roxy, steph, kerri, andre, andy, ashley, kevin, bill, etc.), though the ones that weren't were seemed very fake & spiteful (managers that will remain nameless). guess i won't be missing those fartfaces (damn you SNL!). idk sometimes i think the job just came at a bad time (right when the summer had the potential to get reallllly good) which could've caused my pet-peeves to be magnified. other times i think i'm just fucking glad to be out of there. when something like that steals a shitton of time from my family/girl/friends (seriously, i went for almost two months without seeing ANY of my friends) and effects performance at my other job (lack of sleep), i just have to say no. hell to the no.

so to anybody with experience in the world of retail, i feel your pain. i'm fucking never doing that again.

in the midst of all this staples madness, things between christine and i started heading south. it's not worth going into any details now, but let's just say it was the lowest point in our relationship thus far. i'm gonna do my part to never let that happen again. *knock wood*

all was not lost for my summer however, sometime around mid-august the pace was picking up. things with christine were much improved (yay!), a sweet trip to AC happened, an even sweeter trip to wildwood happened, and i was hanging with friends once again. to put it in a nutshell, i started having some fucking fun!

since then, things have continued to improve/stabilize. i left staples, started hanging out with the gang consistently (which has been beyond awesome), celebrated pirate day at the PA renaissance faire, witnessed the insanity that is brian regan in asbury park, went on more baking frenzies with christine (which included bread-hunting in new hope), attended some sweet halloween parties, and now, i'm going to be putting in for a job at the school (yes, the very school that i despise) that involves setting up/breaking down audio/video equipment for district functions. not sure what the pay with be like, but since it probably won't eat my life up and the schools are über-close, i'll give it a shot.

to conclude, i've been thinking about putting an end to updating this journal. i know, big shocker since i've only posted all of five updates in the past two or so years. but a blogging service that's a bit more standardized (much like typepad and wordpress) in this crazy internet world seems more appealing right now (the very least deviantART should offer for the journals is RSS feeds). therefore, you can find my major journals entries at my livejournal and other random thoughts (similar to the list-style entries you can find here) at both my twitter & pownce accounts. i still may pop in here once and a while if i feel up to it, but 99% of my deviantART updates will probably be of the deviation kind. speaking of which, once i get photoshop cs4 and my new computer up & running, i plan on changing around the theme of my deviantART page. i'm still digging the whole black/green/heartagram thing going on here even after of these years, but a change would be nice.

well that's all i've got, later gators (i use way too many parentheses).

I'd rather be a messed up person, cured, than a regretless person wondering what "messed up" felt like
